Muscat Stock Exchange index rises as foreign investment posts net inflow

The Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) closed today’s trading session on a positive note, with its benchmark “MSX 30” index inching higher amid lower turnover but continued foreign investor interest.

Muscat: The MSX 30 index rose by 6.1 points, or 0.10 per cent, to close at 6,252.58 points, compared to 6,246.50 points in the previous trading session.

Trading value declined by 26.7 per cent to RO 31.44 million, down from RO 42.89 million recorded in the last session.

According to the exchange’s daily report, the market capitalisation posted a marginal increase of 0.058 per cent, reaching approximately RO 33.35 billion.

Foreign investors remained net buyers during the session. Non-Omani purchases stood at RO 4.71 million, accounting for 14.99 per cent of total trading value, while non-Omani sales amounted to RO 4.39 million, or 13.95 per cent. Net non-Omani investment rose by RO 326,000, representing an increase of 1.04 per cent.

The Muscat Stock Exchange index experienced a slight increase, closing at 6,252.58 points, driven by a net inflow of foreign investment. Despite a 26.7% drop in trading value, market capitalisation saw a marginal rise.
