Exports fell by 2.2 percent, totaling $36.1 billion from July 1 to 20, compared to $36.9 billion during the same period last year, Yonhap News Agency reported. The drop reflects ongoing global demand fluctuations and economic uncertainties impacting outbound shipments.
Meanwhile, imports also declined, dropping 4.3 percent year-on-year to $35.6 billion. The sharper decrease in imports allowed the country to maintain a trade surplus of $500 million during the period.
