MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has signed Muthoot FinCorp as the title sponsor for international matches organised by the board through March 2028, in a deal valued at up to ₹150 crore, according to sources familiar with the development.
The non-banking financial company is set to pay up to ₹4.3 crore per match for 35 matches in the current sponsorship cycle. The figure is below the ₹4.85 crore per-match base price initially sought by the BCCI.
Muthoot FinCorp succeeds IDFC First Bank, which paid ₹4.2 crore per match under its previous three-year agreement. That deal, worth ₹235.2 crore and covering 56 matches, concluded in August.
The BCCI initially floated a tender for the title sponsorship rights on July 20, with bids due by August 13. The deadline was subsequently extended to September 7.
According to a source familiar with the process, the board later reached a direct agreement with Muthoot FinCorp after failing to secure a partner through the tender process.
While the new per-match payout represents an increase over the ₹4.2 crore paid by IDFC First Bank, it remains below the BCCI’s original asking price.
The agreement adds to a string of recent commercial deals secured by Indian cricket’s governing body. Campa, SBI Life and ChatGPT have also come on board as associate partners for India’s bilateral cricket, with the three agreements together valued at more than ₹130 crore.
