IndiGo Ventures invests in AI startup Sarvam in Series B round

The airline’s venture capital arm backs Sarvam as the two companies deepen collaboration on AI tools for customer service, employee productivity and airline operations.

NEW DELHI: IndiGo Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Indian airline IndiGo, has invested in artificial intelligence company Sarvam as part of the startup’s Series B funding round, the company said on Friday.

Financial details of the investment were not disclosed.

IndiGo and Sarvam are already collaborating on AI applications aimed at improving customer service, employee productivity and airline operations. The companies plan to continue developing and testing the technology, with successful applications potentially deployed more widely across IndiGo’s network.

Sarvam develops AI models and products capable of processing text, speech, images and documents. The company is also building agentic AI systems designed to perform tasks and take actions with limited human intervention.

The investment reflects IndiGo’s growing interest in deploying artificial intelligence across its operations as airlines increasingly turn to automation and data-driven technology to improve efficiency and passenger services.

The Sarvam deal marks the fourth publicly disclosed investment by IndiGo Ventures.

The venture capital arm made its first disclosed investment in July 2025, backing aerospace manufacturing company JEH Aerospace. The size of that investment was also not disclosed.
