‘We are looking for the right script’: Nivin Pauly confirms talks with Dulquer Salmaan

The two superstars have begun searching for a script that works for both of them, with Nivin revealing that Dulquer recently suggested they should aim to make the film by next Onam.

KOCHI : Malayalam stars Nivin Pauly and Dulquer Salmaan could be heading towards a film together, with Nivin revealing that the two have begun initial discussions and are actively looking for the right script.

Speaking in an interview with The Cue Studio, Nivin said he recently met Dulquer at an awards event in Mumbai after a long gap, and the reunion immediately brought back the equation they shared nearly a decade ago.

According to Nivin, the two spent considerable time talking at the event and felt that their friendship remained unchanged despite the years apart.

“We were thinking about why we lost those 10 years unnecessarily without any movie discussions,” Nivin said, adding that the conversation eventually turned towards collaborating on a film.

Nivin said both actors have agreed to search for a suitable project. Dulquer will look for scripts from his end, while Nivin and his team are also exploring potential stories.

“If an interesting script comes, we will do a movie together. That’s what we have decided for now. We are in the initial discussions,” he said.

Nivin also revealed that Dulquer messaged him recently after watching Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and expressed his eagerness to move the collaboration forward.

“He messaged me two days back after watching Bethlehem Kudumba Unit. He was like, ‘Next Onam, let’s do the movie together,’” Nivin said.

However, he stressed that the project will move ahead only when they find a story that suits both actors.

“There has to be a script that works for both of us,” Nivin said.

While no project has yet been finalised, the revelation has raised the possibility of Nivin and Dulquer sharing the screen in a new Malayalam film, subject to the duo finding the right script.

A potential on-screen partnership between Nivin Pauly and Dulquer Salmaan is taking shape as the actors begin initial discussions about working together. Their recent reunion in Mumbai revived their old camaraderie and led to a mutual decision to find a compelling story. Both sides are scouting scripts, with Dulquer expressing enthusiasm after watching Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.
