Kerala Supplyco records ₹249.18 crore in Onam Fair sales, ₹161 crore worth of subsidised goods sold

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) has recorded sales of ₹249.18 crore through its Onam Fairs, with subsidised essential commodities accounting for ₹161 crore, according to figures released by the state government.

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan congratulated Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob and the Supplyco team for the performance, highlighting the government’s efforts to make essential commodities available at affordable prices during the Onam season.

“Congratulations to Minister Shri Anoop Jacob and the Supplyco team for driving ₹249.18 crore in Onam Fair sales and delivering ₹161 crore in subsidised goods,” the Chief Minister said in a social media post on Friday.

The government said the figures underline the scale of consumer demand during the festive period as well as Supplyco’s role in distributing subsidised goods and helping households access essential commodities at controlled prices.

Supplyco operates a network of retail outlets and special fairs across Kerala, with its Onam initiatives traditionally aimed at increasing the availability of essential commodities and helping contain price pressures during one of the state’s biggest festive seasons.
